During 2024, Sphere continued to work with, for and through its growing network of focal points, members, trainers, donors and practitioners. Notable achievements include the Spanish MOOC (Massive Online Open Course), completion of the AI Safety Label scoping project, a new HSP board game, a new Theory of Change, a new online course Nature-based Solutions for Humanitarians, and a major project in Türkiye including the 2nd ever Global Focal Point Forum.
Once again this annual report includes several pages of updates from our focal point network. For the first time, the report includes environmental reporting - of carbon emissions from travel. -

Introduction to the Core Humanitarian Standard 2024English pptx 2024This PowerPoint presentation introduces the Core Humanitarian Standard 2024. The CHS sets out nine commitments to ensure that organisations support people and communities affected by crisis and vulnerability in ways that respect their rights and dignity. The CHS builds on Humanitarian Principles and the Humanitarian Charter, and may be used in conjunction with Sphere and Humanitarian Standards Partnership standards. Major activities included completion of a Programme for Ukraine and Eastern Europe in response to the conflict in Ukraine, a new regional partner for South-Eastern Europe (DPPI-SEE), a new hosting arrangement for the MERS, and the launch of Nature-based Solutions guidance.
