The new DisasterReady.org offline USB sticks come in two formats – a credit card-sized wafer and a wristband – and, for the time being, work only on computers equipped with Windows operative systems (a version for Apple/Mac computers is under development).
DisasterReady.org will ship up to four USB sticks to humanitarian organisations with offices in field locations at no cost. Requests will be considered based on the training needs and location of the requesting organisations. Those interested need fill out an online form on DisasterReady.org
All the courses are in English with the exception of the Sphere Handbook in Action, which is also available in Arabic, French and Spanish.
Meanwhile, DisasterReady.org continues to increase its online training offer with new courses on their platform. The latest addition is Staff Care for Managers, a course aimed at those managing aid efforts in complex environments where maintaining the health and wellbeing of team members is essential.
