“An introduction to Sphere” is an online training programme that aims to help humanitarian professionals gain the basic knowledge needed to apply Sphere standards in their daily work. It is therefore addressed to individuals working in the humanitarian sector who are new to Sphere or who have a limited knowledge of it.
The course will consist of an opening and a closing webinar, a self-study plan, practical exercises and community discussions.
Participants will learn about the foundations of the Sphere Project, the key aspects of Sphere principles and standards as well as how to use the to improve their work. They will also explore how to use standards in different contexts.
One crucial feature of the course will be the opportunity for participants to share experiences with peers in other agencies.
The course will be conducted in English. It is free of charge but limited to a maximum of 40 participants who will be selected by the Sphere Project office.
The course will start on 22 September 2015 (to be confirmed) and will last two weeks. More details about the course will be communicated at a later stage.
