As a specialist in Child Protection, Disaster Risk Reduction, Disaster Management, Humanitarian Accountability Expert, I have years of experience in managing Emergencies and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) as well as developing, monitoring and coordinating social sector program at local, regional, national and international level including management of personnel, policy advocacy, promoting human rights with special focus on protecting & promoting child rights and Disaster Management.

As a Sphere trainer, I have worked as lead editor of translated versions of following (Bangla) books and guidelines: Sphere Handbook (2003, 2008, 2011 & 2018 (ongoing), Sphere Pocket Book, Child Protection Minimum Standards in humanitarian action (CPMS), INEE (Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies), Introduction to the Core Humanitarian Standards. I have conducted several training as lead facilitator on Sphere Standards (ToT, Sphere Refreshers & Foundation Course) , Humanitarian Principles, and Core Humanitarian Standards , Humanitarian essentials, Sphere and Humanitarian inclusion standards for older people and people with disabilities, Capacity building of specialized emergency response on Basic Humanitarian Principles.

Over the years, I have worked as Consultant on Child protection in Emergencies in UNICEF, Save the Children Australia in Bangladesh as Team Leader; Save the Children in Myanmar as Advisor (DRR), Save the Children UK as Emergency Focal Point of Bangladesh Program. I have also served UNICEF (Child Protection Officer), ActionAid (Director Policy Advocacy and Emergencies), Oxfam GB (Program Manager) and National NGOs and had been consultant with CARE, PRIP/PACT, GTZ, ISPAN etc.

I also have extensive knowledge in the field of child focused and rights based Development and Emergency Response program.
Being the founder convener, currently i am working as the member secretary of Foundation for Disaster Forum (DF), a national membership organization of 67 agencies working in the field of humanitarian response in Bangladesh. I was involved with BRAC as a Director of Disaster Management, and Climate Change Program and a Faculty at the Institute of Disaster Management and Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka.
